Seeding Wisdom was born out of a desire to listen, learn, and facilitate growth in the inter-generational gap.

It’s a calling to all humans, curious about the magical space of intergenerational exchange and interested in different perspectives and shared wisdom.  We want to build a community where respect, kindness, and empathy, drives and paves the road for curiosity, engagement, and collaboration. Advising is sharing the accumulation of facts and data that one has learned about or experienced over time. Mentoring is the ability to discern through active listening, and judge which aspects of that knowledge are true, right, lasting, and applicable to the given situation. We hope that Seeding Wisdom becomes a platform where wisdom is constantly seeded, discerned and sprouted into innovative ideas generously shared with the world.

I’m Katia, Designer, Brand Consultant, Educator. I founded DM Studio and have more than 20 years of experience in the brand & design industry. I am a problem solver with a creative spirit and a need to serve. Around 2008, while I was fortunate to have built a career based on what I loved, I longed to share knowledge and find a deeper purpose. After completing an MFA program, I started teaching, which quickly became one of the most rewarding experiences I have had. Spring of 2019, I left the classroom but continued having a desire to listen, to learn, to help and to guide. In December 2019, I spent a week at the Modern Elder Academy, which lit a fire in me, and gave me the necessary motivation to focus on things that matter most and pursue my purpose.

Participants in Seeding Wisdom will co-create our format. My role is to be a servant leader, to listen, to learn, to teach and to help others get curious, be inspired, and be motivated. My hope is for the platform to become a rich inter-generational open-source collection of collaborative knowledge, wisdom, creativity, and innovation.

Whether you are a curious young adult seeking a safe community for inspiration and guidance or an experienced “compadre” with expertise to share, Seeding Wisdom is a platform for us to come together. An inter-generational collaboration will allow us to share our strengths & limitations, thus filling the gaps for each other. With a desire to learn, we all have gifts, talent, and different perspectives, that put together, can create miracles by the minute!!
