Don't Miss the Ride

We are so focused on what comes next…
When is she going to walk?
When is she going to talk?
When is she going to learn her letters?
OMG, It’s the first day of School!
Gosh! I can’t wait for High School to be over….
What college are you going to?
What do you want to do for the rest of your life?
Congratulations, you got into college.
Now… What?
Yes, now, in your early 20’s you supposed to know
what you want to do for the rest of your life.
We are so focused on what comes next,
forgetting to be present,
to enjoy the journey,
to learn from our mistakes,
to appreciate the process,
and to be grateful for each and every moment.
And yet, we wonder why we are so overwhelmed and lost,
looking for an elusive purpose,
and yet, one that supposes to change the world,
make you famous (and possibly rich),
and fulfill your hearts desire.

Stop.

Look around you. Be present. Know thyself.
You have the rest of your life to figure out
your passion, your mission, your vocation, and your profession.
Your purpose is to enjoy ride... Your heart will fill on the way.

We are so focused on what comes next…
that we often miss the ride.
